Insights and opportunities – a successful trip to analytica Europe

One of our top priorities at kdm is to forge strong relationships with every one of our amazing clients and, of course, we’re always excited to meet prospective customers too and establish fruitful new business partnerships. Industry exhibitions give us perfect opportunities to do both, while simultaneously broadening our knowledge of the latest developments in the life sciences sector. And that’s precisely why our Managing Director, Annabel, and I recently attended analytica Europe, which took place in Munich from the 9th to the 12th of April. analytica is the world’s leading trade fair and conference for laboratory technology, analytics and biotechnology, and it takes place in various international locations several times a year, focusing on the newest scientific discoveries and providing a network for the industry’s top innovators.

With thousands of exhibitors to see, we each systematically worked our way around the enormous exhibition – getting lost several times despite a lot of help from the event map – feeling right at home among the names and logos of iconic laboratory providers, and frequently resisting the urge to talk to every single one of the 1,050 stallholders for the sake of efficiency. We were thrilled to meet some of our clients in person, some of whom were showcasing their innovations in laboratory analytics, such as Unchained Labs, Haier Biomedical, INTEGRA Biosciences, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, Bio-Rad, ePrep, Tecan and Thermo Fisher Scientific, to name but a few. We also found it fascinating to connect with new companies and discuss potential opportunities with countless exhibitors, explaining how they could benefit from kdm’s marketing expertise.

The trade show always runs concurrently with the renowned analytica conference, which this year featured over 190 presentations from international experts, covering a broad range of topics within modern analytics and at the science-industry interface. Alongside, there were numerous break-out sessions, workshops and live demos held at several locations around the venue. We briefly dipped into some of these where possible, covering topics including laboratory digitalisation, sustainability, bioeconomy, food analysis and artificial intelligence but, with so much ground to cover, we soon had to press on in search of our next connection. In fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we lost track of time and stayed until well after all other visitors had left, eventually rushing to the airport and only just making our late flights home. It was a long but worthwhile day, fully deserving of our early starts, and we look forward to seeing what opportunities come out of all our conversations.

kdm is always seeking to learn about the latest scientific advancements, and we can’t resist the temptation of attending as many top industry events as possible. The next destinations on our list are ECCMID, the London Biotechnology Show and VitaFoods Europe. Let us know if you’re planning to be at any of these events too, and arrange to meet up with us. We’d love to get to know you and discuss how we can take care of your scientific press relations at upcoming events.

Can’t wait until the next exhibition? No problem! Get in touch with us today to find out how kdm can support you with your digital marketing needs.
